Lewis Nakatsui is a founder and chairman of the ManCap Group of Companies and a founder and co-chair of the ManCap Foundation. Mr. Nakatsui has held many senior leadership roles in the Canadian home building industry, including President of the Canadian Home Builders Association and is a sought after advisor to government and industry serving on committees, boards and task forces. Mr. Nakatsui believes we should all “Embrace ‘kaizan,’ the principle of continuous improvement.

Mr. Nakatsui began his career providing consulting services to businesses on startup strategies. Following this he worked for two large international computer companies, assisting Alberta companies in the design and implementation of complete accounting and management information systems.

In 1978 he co-founded Lincolnberg Homes Corp. with Larry Anderson and Wayne Berg. As Vice President Projects, he developed and managed the administration and construction systems which allowed the company to grow and prosper. This operation has expanded into a number of residential construction and services companies under the corporate umbrella, ManCap Ventures Inc. Mr. Nakatsui serves as the Chairman of the Board of this private corporation. The ManCap Group of Companies includes Lincolnberg Homes, Challenger Homes, Carriage Custom Homes, Lincolnberg Renovations, Growth Marketing Inc. and RCG Developments Inc.

While the construction of houses has been his primary focus, Mr. Nakatsui has played a significant leadership role in the improvement of Canadian housing technology, serving on numerous industry technical committees, including the housing and small buildings standing committee of the National Building Code. Under Mr. Nakatsui’s direction, the companies in the group have participated in numerous experimental and demonstration projects: 1983, the R2000 pilot project home for Edmonton; 1984, the Alberta Department of Housing “Drywall Approach to Airtightness” demonstration project; 1988, the Dynamic Wall Demonstration house; 1994, pilot project home for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association “EnviroHome” project.

Mr. Nakatsui serves as President of RCG Developments Inc. which specializes in developing residential land and multi-family projects. The company provides project planning, project management, construction management, construction supervision, and estimating and design services to companies and projects in the group. As well the company provides consulting services in energy efficiency and building science.
